Description

Due to the chance of inclement weather, the Foster-Scholz luncheon originally scheduled for February 12 has been postponed until February 26. All other details - time, topic, location, etc. - remain the same.

Please join us for lunch and a talk on "Blanket Solutions or Patchwork Quilt? The Direction of Climate Policy in the United States," with Chris Koski, Associate Professor of Political Science and Environmental Studies.

American climate change policy is not simply what the federal government does or does not do, but is the aggregate of political decisions of 50 states and hundreds of localities. Professor Koski will discuss variations in climate responses across the states in terms of mitigation and adaptation as well as the challenges associated with a decentralized climate policy. Whether the country decides to speak with a single voice on climate issues or continues in harmony, challenges remain in curing the disease of climate change while also treating its symptoms.
